Stephanie Young is running for the Michigan House of Representatives in the 8th District. Young is an alum of James Madison College at Michigan State University and has been fighting for justice in Detroit since graduating. She is the former Executive Director of the Detroit Community Education Commission, and a former Manager at the Detroit Mayor’s Office Department of Neighborhoods.
Young’s platform includes going to bat for quality public education, creating strong communities with access to clean water, protecting the environment, creating good-paying jobs, fighting for accessible and affordable healthcare, promoting reliable services for seniors, and improving the overall quality of life for the people of Detroit and Michigan.
Young is endorsed by four of our partner organizations including the Michigan Education Association, American Federation of Teachers, Michigan AFL-CIO, and Michigan League of Conservation Voters.
Young is running against Miroslawa Teresa Gorah. While we didn't see endorsements for Gorah from organizations that concern us, they also don't have the support of any of our partner organizations and therefore we cannot recommend them.
Young is the most progressive choice in this race.

Joe Biden
Joseph R. Biden, Jr. is the Democratic candidate for President of the United States. Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Biden has a long career in public service, most notably serving as Vice President alongside President Barack Obama from 2009 to 2016.
Chief Justice Bridget Mary McCormack and Elizabeth Welch are our recommendations for the Michigan Supreme Court. Both candidates will protect our civil rights while ensuring justice for all.
The Michigan Supreme Court race appears on the non-partisan section of the ballot, but McCormack and Welch were nominated by the Michigan Democratic Party. Be sure to turn your ballot over and do not leave this important race blank.
