Kaur serves in leadership in many community organizations, including the Rotary Club of Kent, as president of the Kentwood PTSA, and as chair of the Puget Sound Clean Air Agency Advisory Council.
Her platform focuses on improving housing affordability, lowering the cost of living, and championing public schools. Kaur points to the exit of many representatives of color, like this seat's retiring incumbent Rep. Mona Das, as a sign that people of color, women, and moms will need more support from Olympia. Kaur also wants to see more housing types to support diverse communities, including permanent supportive housing and increased shelter space, as well as rental assistance.
