School District Ballot Issues

Depending on where you live, you may be voting on the below school district ballot measures.

Highland Schools

Highland School District Proposition #1

Vote YES for Highland Schools

Highland School District No. 203 has proposed a four-year levy to raise $1.25 million per year for basic school operations and educational enrichment programs. This would replace the existing levy at the same level of $1.50 per $1,000 of assessed value, costing the owner of a median $298,000 home $447 per year. Vote yes to continue to offer all Highland students a quality education!

Sunnyside School District

Sunnyside School District Proposition #1

Vote YES to Expand and Upgrade Sunnyside Schools

Sunnyside School District #201 has proposed a $16 million bond to build and renovate numerous outdated and overcrowded school buildings at Sunnyside High School. Sunnyside is currently 200 students over capacity and that number may grow to 360 students over the next five years. The estimated property tax levy of $0.76 per $1,000 of assessed value would cost the owner of a median $182,000 home $138 per year. However, other education property taxes are expected to drop by $0.39 after changes to the state's education tax formulas, reducing the net increase to $62 per year. Vote yes to ensure that every Sunnyside student has a safe and modern building in which to learn!
