Franklin County

Zahra Roach is a former teacher and Chair of the Pasco Planning Commission running for Position 7, the at-large seat, on Pasco City Council. She has served on the Children's Developmental Center Board for four years and is currently board secretary. Roach is endorsed by fellow Pasco Planning Commission Commissioner Tanya Bowers and Mayor Matt Watkins, who currently holds this seat. She wants to advocate for students and use her experience as a member of the Planning Commission to improve business opportunities as the city continues to grow. Roach will also prioritize increased mobility for all residents, including repairing sidewalks and implementing bike lanes. 

Also in this race are fellow Pasco Planning Commission Commissioner Abel Campos and Republican consultant Patrick Guettner. Campos is endorsed by retired Pasco Police Chief Bob Metzger. His campaign is focused on keeping Pasco unified but does not offer proposals for what that entails. Guettner does not have a strong campaign presence. While Campos is very involved in the community, Roach's endorsements, experience, and strong campaign presence make her the best pick for the at-large seat on Pasco City Council.
