Albuquerque City Council, District 6

Depending on where you live, you may have the following district races on your ballot.

Nichole Rogers is running for Albuquerque City Council, District 6 in the December 2023 runoff election. Rogers secured 40% of the vote in the general election on November 7th, despite it being a four way race, proving the community supports and trusts her leadership. Her long-time work as a community organizer in Albuquerque drives her interest in developing people-oriented solutions. Nichole Rogers is publicly financed which means in order to even get on the ballot, Rogers had to collect 500 signatures of eligible voters in the district, demonstrating community support before starting her campaign.

Rogers' priorities are to address poverty by supporting a Guaranteed Income pilot program and address housing shortages through down payment assistance and financial education programs. Rogers plans to address public safety through increased funding to the Albuquerque Fire and Rescue and Albuquerque Community Safety programs as well as implementing recommendations from the Gun Violence Task Force. She further states she will prioritize addressing healthcare through increased funding for mental health, addiction, workforce, and housing services, as well as supporting community solar programs for her district.

Nichole Rogers is an independent contractor with Primerica Financial Services, a financial services company serving the middle-income market. Rogers spent two years as the African-American Community & Business Liaison in the Office of Black Community Engagement, which is part of the City of Albuquerque Equity & Inclusion department. She is the current Board Secretary of New Mexico First, Former Chair of the City of Albuquerque’s Gun Violence Task Force, former Co-Chair of African American Complete Count Committee for the 2020 Census, and Organizer for the 2020 - 2023 NM Juneteenth Celebration at Roosevelt Park and Civic Plaza.

We highly recommend Nichole Rogers as the progressive Democrat running for District 6 and her commitment to improving the lives of the residents of Albuquerque.
