Jenn Hill is a Democrat running for the Michigan House of Representatives for the 109th District. Hill earned a Master’s in City Planning from MIT and is a leader in the nonprofit sector, building community-focused environmental, public health, arts, and youth mentorship programs. She is vice president of the Citizens Utility Board of Michigan where she advocates for consumer-first energy policies and works at 5 Lakes Energy to bring electric vehicles and green buildings to the Upper Peninsula. She was elected to the Marquette City Commission in 2018.
Hill’s priorities include fighting price-gouging corporations and lobbyists who stack the deck against working people. She will work to raise wages, create good-paying jobs, support small businesses, pursue solutions to make housing more affordable, and implement stronger protections for renters. Hill will fight for affordable child care and senior care, affordable prescription drugs, expanded access to both mental and physical health care, and to protect reproductive freedom. She will also work to increase support and resources for public schools, prioritize protecting Michigan’s water, protect marginalized communities, and protect voting rights.
Hill is endorsed by six of our partners: Michigan AFL-CIO, American Federation of Teachers Michigan, Sierra Club Michigan Chapter, Clean Water Action, Michigan League of Conservation Voters, and Equality Michigan.
Hill is running against Republican Melody Wagner. Wagner is anti-reproductive freedom and holds irresponsible views on guns. She is endorsed by the anti-choice organization Right to Life Michigan.
Jenn Hill is the most progressive choice in this race.
