Lori Stone is an incumbent running for her second term in the Michigan House of Representatives in the 28th District. She currently serves on the Education Committee, Health Policy Committee, and the Financial Services Committee. Before becoming a representative, Stone was a teacher for 14 years and is still an MEA union member and union representative.
Stone’s priorities include providing adequate funding for Michigan’s public schools and promoting affordable college and vocational career paths. Stone also wants to keep our water and air clean, invest in repairing and maintaining our roads, water treatment systems and bridges, and drive our economy forward by repealing right-to-work legislation and fighting for the working class.
Stone is endorsed by seven of our partner organizations including Michigan Education Association, American Federation of Teachers, Michigan AFL-CIO, Michigan League of Conservation Voters, Sierra Club, Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan, and Between the Lines.
Stone is running against Stephen Colegio. While we didn't see endorsements for Colegio from organizations that concern us, they also don't have the support of any of our partner organizations and therefore we cannot recommend them.
Stone is the most progressive choice in this race.

Joe Biden
Joseph R. Biden, Jr. is the Democratic candidate for President of the United States. Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Biden has a long career in public service, most notably serving as Vice President alongside President Barack Obama from 2009 to 2016.
Chief Justice Bridget Mary McCormack and Elizabeth Welch are our recommendations for the Michigan Supreme Court. Both candidates will protect our civil rights while ensuring justice for all.
The Michigan Supreme Court race appears on the non-partisan section of the ballot, but McCormack and Welch were nominated by the Michigan Democratic Party. Be sure to turn your ballot over and do not leave this important race blank.
