Jewell Jones is an incumbent running for re-election for the Michigan House of Representatives in the 11th District. Jones is an alum of the University of Michigan-Dearborn, and at age 20 was elected to the Inkster City Council. By winning his first election in 2016 to the House of Representatives, he became the youngest Michigan State Representative in History.
Jones’ main priorities in the legislature include equitable funding for public schools and affordable post-secondary education, promoting small business development programs and technical skills training, affordable healthcare, criminal justice reform, and protecting the environment.
Jones is endorsed by five of our partner organizations including the Michigan Education Association, American Federation of Teachers, Michigan AFL-CIO, Michigan League of Conservation Voters, and Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan.
Jones is running against James Townsend. While we didn't see endorsements for Townsend from organizations that concern us, they also don't have the support of any of our partner organizations and therefore we cannot recommend them.
Jones is the most progressive choice in this race.

Joe Biden
Joseph R. Biden, Jr. is the Democratic candidate for President of the United States. Born in Scranton, Pennsylvania, Biden has a long career in public service, most notably serving as Vice President alongside President Barack Obama from 2009 to 2016.
Chief Justice Bridget Mary McCormack and Elizabeth Welch are our recommendations for the Michigan Supreme Court. Both candidates will protect our civil rights while ensuring justice for all.
The Michigan Supreme Court race appears on the non-partisan section of the ballot, but McCormack and Welch were nominated by the Michigan Democratic Party. Be sure to turn your ballot over and do not leave this important race blank.
