Brenda Wiest is the best choice in the crowded field for Pierce County Charter Review Commission District 7, Position 2. Wiest is running to make Pierce County government more efficient and accessible to all residents. She also brings a strong background in issues important to working people and she has a track record of working collaboratively with others on complex issues like paid sick leave.

Also running in this race are David Olson, Michael Jankanish, Andy Leneweaver, Ron Lopp, Marty McClendon, Justin Camarata, and Hans Kueck. Justin Camarata is active with bike and pedestrian boards in Tacoma, but doesn't have Wiest's depth of experience. Olson is an Assistant Vice President at U.S. Bank, Jankanish has served on the Tacoma Human Rights Commission, and Leneweaver is a retired U.S. Army Colonel who serves on the Tacoma Historical Society board. In addition, McClendon ran as a Republican for Congress against Derek Kilmer and neither Kueck nor Lopp are running competitive campaigns.
