Retired union electrician and volunteer firefighter Del Schmechel is prioritizing public safety, economic stability, public education funding, and the separation of church and state in his run for the 98th Assembly District. He believes strongly in the benefits of unions in the workforce and will fight for workers’ rights. Opposing Schmechel is Republican candidate Jim Piwowarczyk, who has aligned himself with one of Wisconsin’s most extreme anti-abortion organizations.
