State Senate

Depending on where you live, you may have one of the below State Senate races on your ballot.

Senado Estatal, Distrito 24 del Senado Estatal

Collin McNamara believes Central Wisconsin, where he was born and raised, holds strong values of honesty and integrity that need to be represented in the State Senate. McNamara is interested in improving the region’s infrastructure, increasing accessibility to affordable healthcare, and keeping local communities safe. McNamara’s opponent is Senator Patrick Testin, who has been endorsed by an extreme right wing group that wants to ban abortion without exception, even when the pregnant person's life is at risk. Collin McNamara is the progressive choice in this race.

Senator Brad Pfaff was born and raised in the La Crosse area on a family farm, and has been representing the region in the Senate since 2021. Local agriculture is a major priority for Pfaff, and he has held numerous leadership positions in the agricultural industry over his career. Pfaff also cares deeply about promoting environmental responsibility, rural economies, robust infrastructure, and care for our veterans and elderly. Pfaff’s opponent in this election is Republican candidate Stacey Klein, who supports Wisconsin’s previously in-effect 1849 abortion ban. Pfaff is the progressive choice in this race.

Account manager and Tomah native Remy Gomez currently serves his community on the Monroe County Board of Supervisors and previously on the Tomah Common Council. If elected, he plans to fight for all residents of the 70th Assembly District, not just a select few. Gomez is proudly pro-choice, and supports codifying reproductive freedom in state law. He also wants to ensure our public schools and infrastructure have adequate funding, especially in rural communities, and will fight for Medicaid expansion and affordable childcare. Gomez is challenging Republican incumbent Nancy VanderMeer, who has consistently cast anti-choice, anti-public education, anti-environment, and anti-democracy votes during her time in the Assembly. Remy Gomez is the progressive choice in this race.

While he is personally anti-choice, he has voted pro-choice as a legislator. He is a supporter of gun rights and has received an endorsement from the NRA in the past. However, he did co-sponsor a universal background check bill. Doyle is known for his bipartisanship. His challenger, Republican candidate Ryan Huebsch, has worked for multiple Republican legislators and is endorsed by an extreme right wing group that supports Wisconsin's criminal abortion ban, which prohibits abortion even in cases of rape or incest. Although Doyle is not as progressive as some other legislators, he has always stood up for progressive issues like labor rights, public schools, and the environment when it counts. Doyle is the progressive choice in this race.
