  • Deborah Davis is a longtime resident of Franklin, former civics teacher and union member, community leader and volunteer, and small business owner running to represent the 82nd Assembly District. Davis promises to provide safer, stronger, smarter leadership in the State Capitol by pushing for policies like universal background checks and red flag laws, investing some of Wisconsin's budget surplus in ways that help families deal with rising costs, making big corporations pay their fair share, and ensuring our public schools have adequate funding to provide a high-quality educataion to our kids. Davis is challenging Republican incumbent Chuck Wichgers, who signed a January 2021 letter asking then-Vice President Pence to refuse to certify the 2020 presidential election results, authored a bill censoring educators from providing accurate, honest, factual information to students about events like the Civil War and the Civil Rights movement, and is endorsed by an extreme right wing group that wants to ban abortion without exception, even when the pregnant person's life is at risk.
