Union Leader Joni Anderson is the progressive candidate for the 14th Senate District. Anderson is a strong advocate for labor and favors Medicare for All and the Green New Deal. She has also made non-partisan redistricting and voting rights central to her campaign. Her opponent is current Assembly Rep. Joan Ballweg, who has been endorsed by Pro-Life Wisconsin, Wisconsin Right to Life, and the NRA. Anderson is the progressive choice.

Paul Piotrowski is a decorated former Navy officer who served his home of Stevens Point for over 26 years, most recently as City Clerk. He’ll put the middle class first in the economic response to coronavirus and work to get help for working families and small businesses that are struggling here at home. Piotrowski worked a good blue-collar job and gets that college might not be for everyone, but a good-paying job should be. He'll also fight to expand access to affordable health care and protect people with pre-existing conditions from losing their health care. His opponent, first term Senator Pat Testin supported giving up to three billion dollars in corporate giveaways to FoxConn. After accepting campaign donations from health insurance PACs, he single-handedly blocked protections for pre-existing conditions from passing the State Senate. Testin would ban abortion and defund Planned Parenthood. He has actively opposed the state’s Safer-at-Home order and backed the lawsuit to prematurely end it while cases of coronavirus were still growing. Piotrowski is the progressive choice.

Izzy Hassey Nevarez is running for Assembly with an emphasis on local issues and local solutions. He believes that healthcare is a right, that tax dollars should fund public schools, and that medical and recreational marijuana should be legalized. Hassey Nevarez favors Medicaid expansion, fair maps, and a science-based approach to the COVID-19 pandemic. Incumbent Republican Mark Born votes consistently with Republican legislative leaders, including for a health care law that created large loopholes for insurers to discriminate against people with pre-existing conditions. Hassey Nevarez is the progressive choice.

New London substitute teacher Deb Silvers is running as a moderate Democrat. She supports overturning Act 10, ending voucher programs, moving away from carbon-based fuel, and expanding BadgerCare. Incumbent Kevin Petersen has long been an acolyte of Scott Walker and Robin Vos in the Assembly, supporting Act 10 and eroding Wisconsin's conservation protections. Silvers is the more progressive choice.

Democrat Nate Zimdars is focused on the rural issues that most affect his constituents. As a member of a farming family, Zimdars is focused on supporting the agricultural community as it has contended with changing weather patterns, trade wars, and declining prices. He also prioritizes improving rural infrastructure by improving roads, preserving clean water, and expanding broadband access. Zimdars' third priority is ensuring that everyone has access to affordable healthcare. His opponent, Alex Dallman, is anti-choice and opposed to gun violence prevention legislation. Zimdars is the progressive choice in this race.

Lee Snodgrass believes that every Wisconsinite should have access to affordable healthcare and supports Medicaid expansion and defending the Affordable Care Act. She supports restoring local school funding, holding private schools that receive publicly funded vouchers to higher standards, and investing in technical colleges. Snodgrass believes in marijuana legalization, nonpartisan redistricting, sustainable funding for roads and bridges, universal background checks, and a woman's right to choose. She also favors supporting working families through paid family leave and minimum wage standards. Her opponent, Eric Beach, is anti-choice, opposed to the mask mandates, and opposed to common-sense gun laws. Snodgrass is the more progressive choice in this race.

Teacher and community organizer Criste Greening is running to challenge Republican Assemblyman Scott Krug. Greening favors fully funding public schools, protecting natural resources, supporting family farms, and improving veteran services. Rep. Krug is anti-choice and in favor of taxpayer funded private school vouchers. Greening is the more progressive choice.
