No Good Choices

There is no progressive choice in this race. Sen. Duey Stroebel is running unopposed for his third term in the State Senate. He has a long conservative record which includes favoring harsher criminal justice laws, right-to-work legislation, and repealing environmental protections. State Assembly

Depending on where you live, you may have one of the below State Assembly races on your ballot.

  • As the parent of two children with autism who rely on BadgerCare, Emily Voight found that when she needed assistance, her state representative was dismissive and unhelpful. She has decided to run for the office herself. Voight is in favor of expanding BadgerCare, raising the minimum wage, and nonpartisan redistricting. She believes that the Assembly should be listening to science and taking action in response to the pandemic. Her opponent, Ron Tusler, most recently made the news for posting a racist meme. Tusler is also endorsed by Wisconsin Right to Life, a right wing group that wants to outlaw abortion, and has consistently supported legislation that limits access to reproductive care. No Good Choices

Assemblyman Timothy Ramthun is running unopposed. Ramthun is a rubber stamp for conservative leadership, as evidenced by a well reported occasion where he voted for an amendment and asked what was in it a month later, writing that the provision was "deeply disturbing." The provision made it much more difficult for essential workers to obtain worker's compensation if they contract coronavirus in the course of their jobs. Ramthun is fiscally conservative and is anti-choice. There is no progressive candidate in this race.
