State Assembly

Depending on where you live, you may have one of the below State Assembly races on your ballot.

Representative, District 62

Lifelong District 62 resident August Schutz believes in investing in education, infrastructure, and creating high-paying jobs in Wisconsin. He believes that the gas tax should be tied to inflation to fund safe roads and bridges. Schutz is also in favor of fair maps, legalizing marijuana, and taking action on climate change. His opponent, Assemblyman Robert Wittke, is opposed to Medicaid expansion, wants lower taxes for the wealthy and corporations and fewer regulations, opposes common-sense gun safety measures, and is anti-choice. Schutz is the more progressive choice in this race.

Endorsed By: WEAC , WI AFL-CIO

Representative, District 63

Joel Jacobsen is challenging Republican Assembly Speaker Robin Vos for the second time to improve access to healthcare, protect the environment, and lower the middle class tax burden. Jacobsen believes in Medicaid expansion, fully funding public schools, investing in technical colleges, and investing in renewable energy. Assembly Speaker Robin Vos has been largely responsible for creating partisan gridlock in Madison. He is responsible for the laws passed in the 2018 lame duck session, the weakening of what once were landmark environmental protection regulations, the failure of the Assembly to respond adequately to the COVID-19 crisis and the resulting economic crisis, and much more. Jacobsen is the more progressive choice.
