Distrito Escolar Battle Ground School District Proposition #5

  • VOTE YES
Vote YES On Battle Ground Proposition No. 5
  • The Board of Directors of Battle Ground School District No. 119 are asking voters to renew the district's expiring four-year levy. Throughout the district, the levy pays for a wide range of services, including 260 staff positions like nurses and psychologists, technology, social-emotional support, textbooks, special education services, building maintenance, activities, and more. Without a renewal, the district would be unable to meet students' educational needs.

Proposition 5 would reduce the current levy, which is $2.50 per $1000 of assessed property value, to a rate of $1.95 for 2021, which would increase to $2.20 in 2023 through 2025. The decreased rate reflects the board's acknowledgment of the pandemic's impact on the community while balancing the need for school resources. The cost for the owner of a $400,000 home would be about $780 in 2021.

Now more than ever, our kids need our support in navigating online learning and the transition back to in-person education. Support healthy schools and students with a YES vote on Proposition 5 for Battleground School District No. 119.
