Wahluke School District

VOTE YES

Vote YES to ensure our schools are in the best condition for learning

The Wahluke School District, like districts across the state, must rely on local bonds and levies to bridge the gap between state funding and what our students need to thrive. In this election, voters have the chance to approve Wahluke School District Proposition 1, which would authorize a Capital Levy for Health, Safety, and Facility Improvements.

The Capital Levy would cover critical priorities across our schools that the district board has already set out. Some infrastructure upgrades that have been earmarked for levy funding include fire and alarm systems, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning, and HVAC systems. By investing in improved systems, our students can be comfortable and focused at school.

Proposition 1 would authorize a three-year levy to fund capital projects in health, safety, and infrastructure areas. At a rate of $0.75 per $1,000 in assessed property value, the levy would cost the owner of a $350,000 home approximately $263 annually. The levy appearing on ballots represents a lower rate than an initial proposal based on community feedback and only represents the most urgent funding needs for our schools.

Vote Yes on Wahluke School District Proposition 1 to ensure our students have safe, clean, modern, and updated learning environments in which to learn.
