We all believe that every child, regardless of their race or where they were born, deserves a quality education that prepares them for a rapidly-changing world. Renewing the Educational Programs and Operations Levy is critical to providing this opportunity for all students in Seattle Public Schools.

Proposition No. 1 would allow schools to continue funding essential programs and services, including school nurses, custodians, child nutrition, instructional materials, special education, STEM programs, and more. The levy would maintain the existing rate of $0.74 from 2023 to 2025, which would cost the owner of a median $888,000 house $657 a year.

Without local funding, the district would be forced to make deep cuts in staffing and services that are important for students' success. Vote YES on Proposition No. 1 to support a great education for all Seattle kids.

The board of the Seattle School District has proposed Proposition No. 2, the Buildings, Technology, and Academics/Athletics Levy Renewal, to create safe and modern classrooms and school facilities.

If approved, the levy would fund renovations like earthquake proofing, renovation of athletic facilities and playgrounds, energy efficiency upgrades, and more, as well as technology for students and staff. At a starting rate of $0.47 per $1,000 in assessed value in 2023, which steadily falls to $0.36 by 2028, these improvements would cost the owner of a median $888,000 home $417 in 2023.

Vote YES on Seattle Public Schools' Proposition No. 2 for a modern and updated learning environment for our kids and our community.
