The Board of Commissioners of Woodinville Fire and Rescue has put forward Proposition 1 to maintain emergency services for our growing local population for another six years. This fee, which voters have approved twice before, accounts for 44 percent of the Woodinville Fire and Rescue budget. The charge must be renewed by voters every 6 years to maintain their current response times, train personnel, and buy equipment.

Darrington School District No. 330 is proposing the Capital Levy for Safety, Security, and Facilities Improvement. Deteriorating infrastructure and outdated alert systems in the school district affect children's ability to learn and stay safe in their schools. This four-year levy would begin in 2020 at a rate of $0.75 per $1,000 of assessed property value, and dropping to $0.69 in 2023, initially costing the owner of a media $242,000 home about $182 a year. Funds would go to the installation of emergency alert systems, building upgrades, modernizing school access, replacing the Darrington Elementary School roof, and other improvements.
