City Ballot Measures

Depending on where you live, you may have one of the below measures on your ballot.

Vashon Ballot Measures

Vashon City Advisory Vote #1

The Vashon-Maury Island Park and Recreation District is proposing a four-year, $1.3 million levy to improve lighting, fix the maintenance backlog, and install restroom at all parks. This modest levy provides the backbone for all maintenance and operations work for public parks on Vashon and Maury Islands. The Belle Baldwin House, Inspiration Point wall, and Point Robinson would all benefit from this levy and proponents hope to increase program options for local seniors in parks.

This important four-year proposal would be funded by a property tax of $0.52 per $1,000 of assessed home value, an increase of $0.11 per $1,000. This levy would cost the owner of a median $595,000 home $309 per year. Vote yes to ensure every resident of Vashon and Maury Islands continues to have access to beautiful natural areas!

Woodinville Ballot Measures

Woodinville Fire District Proposition #1

The Board of Commissioners of Woodinville Fire and Rescue has put forward Proposition 1 to maintain emergency services for our growing local population for another six years. This fee, which voters have approved twice before, accounts for 44 percent of the Woodinville Fire and Rescue budget. The charge must be renewed by voters every 6 years to maintain their current response times, train personnel, and buy equipment.

A yes vote would maintain the existing tax level and continue the critical emergency services our community depends on. Vote yes on Proposition 1 to support the emergency services Woodinville needs!

School District Ballot Measures

Depending on where you live, you may have one of the below measures on your ballot.

Lake Washington Ballot Measures

Lake Washington School District School District Proposition #1

The Board of Directors of Lake Washington School District No. 414 is proposing a six-year, $120 million capital projects levy to expand and upgrade school facilities and increase security.

The Puget Sound area is one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the country and many schools are struggling to keep up with surging enrollments. The Lake Washington School District has grown by 6,000 students in the last 10 years and expects to add another 2,000 students in the next 3 years. Proposition No. 1 would address overcrowding by adding classrooms at Lake Washington High School and Carson, Franklin, Rose Hill, and Twain Elementary Schools.

This important six-year proposal would replace an expiring levy at the rate of $0.29 per $1,000 of assessed home value in 2020 and decline to $0.25 in 2024, costing the owner of a median $800,000 home $232 per year. Our students deserve better than overcrowded and outdated schools. Vote YES on the Lake Washington School District Proposition No. 1!
