Expand and upgrade facilities in the Lake Washington School District

  • The Board of Directors of Lake Washington School District No. 414 is proposing a six-year, $120 million capital projects levy to expand and upgrade school facilities and increase security.

The Puget Sound area is one of the fastest growing metropolitan areas in the country and many schools are struggling to keep up with surging enrollments. The Lake Washington School District has grown by 6,000 students in the last 10 years and expects to add another 2,000 students in the next 3 years. Proposition No. 1 would address overcrowding by adding classrooms at Lake Washington High School and Carson, Franklin, Rose Hill, and Twain Elementary Schools.

This important six-year proposal would replace an expiring levy at the rate of $0.29 per $1,000 of assessed home value in 2020 and decline to $0.25 in 2024, costing the owner of a median $800,000 home $232 per year. Our students deserve better than overcrowded and outdated schools. Vote YES on the Lake Washington School District Proposition No. 1!

Vote YES to modernize and expand Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland

  • The Board of Commissioners of King County Public Hospital District No. 2 is proposing a $345 million bond to modernize and expand Evergreen Hospital in Kirkland. East King County has experienced rapid population growth in the past 10 years that has stretched the current facility to its limits. In addition, some aging buildings are badly in need of seismic upgrades to protect patients and medical staff in the event of an earthquake. Proposition No. 1 would address both of these needs and upgrade both the Critical Care United and the Family Maternity Center.

This levy of $0.18 per $1,000 assessed home value would cost the owner of a median $700,000 home $126 per year. Vote YES on King County Public Hospital District Proposition No. 1 to ensure Eastside residents can continue to access quality health care!

    Vote YES for Emergency Services

  • In an emergency, the last thing anyone should be worried about is whether first responders have the resources and equipment they need to do their jobs. The Board of King County Fire Protection District 40 has proposed a six-year, $12 million levy to replace the existing fire and emergency services levy. This would extend the same levy that voters in Renton and nearby communities have approved five times before.

Fire District 40 allows residents to reduce their tax by having either monitored fire sprinkler and/or smoke detector systems. Vote yes on Proposition No. 1 to ensure our emergency responders have the equipment, training, and staff they need to keep us safe!
