Vote YES to Expand and Upgrade Sunnyside Schools

Sunnyside School District School District Proposition #1 photo Sunnyside School District #201 has proposed a $16 million bond to build and renovate numerous outdated and overcrowded school buildings at Sunnyside High School. Sunnyside is currently 200 students over capacity and that number may grow to 360 students over the next five years. The estimated property tax levy of $0.76 per $1,000 of assessed value would cost the owner of a median $182,000 home $138 per year. However, other education property taxes are expected to drop by $0.39 after changes to the state's education tax formulas, reducing the net increase to $62 per year.
