Nooksack Valley Schools School District Proposition #2019-1 photo Nooksack Valley School District #506 has proposed a $29.7 million bond to build and renovate numerous outdated and overcrowded school buildings. Enrollment in Nooksack schools has increased by 16 percent in just four years, leaving classrooms overcrowded and hundreds of students stuck in portables without water or bathrooms. The new property tax would cost the owner of a median $324,000 home approximately $400 per year. However, changes to the state's education tax formulas mean that overall property taxes will drop significantly.
