Vote YES to Expand and Upgrade Kennewick Schools

  • Kennewick School District No. 17 has proposed a $125 million bond to build and renovate numerous outdated and overcrowded school buildings. The levy would replace or expand buildings at Kennewick, Kamiakin, and Southridge High schools, and Amistad and Ridge View Elementary schools, as well as financing construction of an entirely new elementary school. The estimated property tax levy of $0.30 per $1,000 of assessed value would cost the owner of a median $285,000 home $86 per year. Overall, property taxes are still expected to decrease significantly after changes to the state's education tax formulas. Vote yes to ensure that every Kennewick student has a safe and modern building in which to learn!
