First elected in 2016, Judge Laura Riquelme is running for re-election to the Skagit County Superior Court. Previously, she served 12 years as both a prosecutor and a senior deputy public defender. Judge Riquelme is very active in her community, serving as president of the Parent Teacher Association for her son’s school, working with the Skagit Immigrant Rights Council on issues affecting immigrants in the court system, teaching English as a a second language class with Community Action, and serving on two committees at the Superior Court Judges' Association.
