Chris Lanese started his career working on behalf of low-income families at a legal aid clinic. After graduating from Harvard Law School, he moved into private practice but continued his commitment to public service, serving on the State Bar’s Pro Bono and Legal Aid Committee. Lanese has since then worked in Attorney General Bob Ferguson's Office in Olympia, where he strives to ensure justice and equal access are accessible to all.
Lanese has received support from all nine state Supreme Court justices, numerous progressive legislators, and from a large number of others in our state’s judicial and legal communities. His opponent, Laura Murphy, spent the past 10 years as a Judge pro tem in the Thurston County District Court and has also received a Human Rights Award from the Thurston County Council. However, due to the community support from our partners, we recommend Lanese in this race.
