This election will be held on November 4, 2025. Incumbent Democratic Delegate JJ Singh faces a challenge from Republican Ommair Butt in HD-26.

Virginia’s House District 26 lies entirely within Loudoun County in Northern Virginia, covering eastern suburbs such as Ashburn, Leesburg, and Sterling. In the 2024 election Democratic presidential and senatorial nominees carried the district by comfortable double-digit margins.

Incumbent Democrat Delegate JJ Singh was elected in this January’s special election. He began his public service journey as the first turbaned Sikh in the Peace Corps, later analyzed federal budgets at the White House Office of Management and Budget, advised Senator Chris Coons on economic policy, and now leads Retreat Hotels and Resorts. A graduate of the University of Virginia with a B.A. in Economics, he earned an M.P.A. from Harvard Kennedy School and an M.B.A. from Harvard Business School. He lives in Loudoun County with his wife and two young daughters.

Delegate Singh pledged to fight for affordable childcare, preserve high-quality public schools, and rein in skyrocketing college tuition and fees to keep education within reach for Virginia families.
