Matt Duvall is the Democratic candidate running for the Pennsylvania State House seat in the 102nd legislative district. Duvall moved to Lebanon County in 2006 and holds a PhD from Drexel University specializing in STEM education. Prior to earning his doctorate, he worked as a high school teacher and a software developer. He currently works on education software for children with autism.
Duvall’s top priorities are supporting working families, expanding access and funding to education, and using technology to create jobs and train workers. In addition, Duvall supports strong unions and paid family leave. Duvall advocates using technology for public policy. He supports the expansion of technology in the classroom, development of broadband internet, and supporting high-tech job creation.
Duvall is running against Republican incumbent Russell Diamond. He’s held the seat since 2015. In 2019, Russell Diamond cosponsored a bill to eliminate the General Assistance, the largest anti-poverty program in the state. In 2018, he also cosponsored a bill that would exempt oil drillers from having to report oil spills. In the middle of a pandemic, Russel Diamond joined Republicans in their near unanimous vote against providing protective gear, testing, hazard pay, family leave, and preserving disaster declarations put in place to protect Pennsylvanians.
Matt Duvall is the clear progressive choice in this race.Matt Duvall
