Airneezer Page-Bingham is the Democratic candidate for the Pennsylvania House of Representative in the 83rd legislative district. Raised by a pastor and a nurse, Page learned the value of community service from a young age. Her career in service started in Girl Scouts and later in the U.S. Army. In 2013, she founded Community Connection, a nonprofit that promotes economic self-sufficiency, civic engagement, and cultural awareness.
Bingham’s platform is progressive. Her top three issues are education, healthcare and voter rights. Bingham addresses school funding and rising tax rates for seniors by closing the Delaware Tax loophole and passing a severance tax on fossil fuels. She also supports a single-payer healthcare system. Bingham advocates for Pennsylvanians affected by voter suppression which mainly include seniors and black and brown people.
Page-Bingham is challenging Republican Jeff Wheeland, who is running for his third term as state representative. Prior to taking office, Wheeland was the Lycoming County Commissioner where he helped develop the Marcellus Shale gas field. In office, Wheeland voted to defund poorer school districts in favor of wealthier districts and charter schools. Wheeling also voted to make it more difficult for Pennsylvanians to qualify for Medicaid. In the middle of a pandemic, Jeff Wheeland joined Republicans in their near unanimous vote against providing protective gear, testing, hazard pay, family leave, and preserving disaster declarations put in place to protect Pennsylvanians.
Airneezer Page-Bingham is the clear progressive choice in this race.Airneezer Page-Bingham
