Trevis Harrold is a Democrat running for the Michigan House of Representatives in the 55th District. He has dedicated his career to national security and public service. He worked for the U.S. Department of State at our embassies in Jamaica, Kosovo and Mexico. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserves as a First Lieutenant. He grew up in Saginaw and was raised by a single mother and attended Eastern Michigan University where he obtained his Bachelor's degree in economics and political science and then attended University of Michigan where he obtained his Master’s of Public Policy. In the private sector he worked for Dow Chemical in their government affairs division focusing on trade, immigration, and geopolitical security issues. He currently lives in Rochester and enjoys playing basketball in his spare time.
Harrold’s priorities include championing environmental stewardship, investing in education, protecting women’s reproductive rights, affordable healthcare, growing economic opportunities, common sense gun laws, and providing for our veterans. He is committed to advocating for LGBTQ+ rights and addressing housing disparities.

Harrold is running against Republican incumbent Mark Tisdel who is endorsed by the anti-reproductive freedom organization Right to Life Michigan and the anti-public education, DeVos-backed organization the Great Lakes Education Project.. After the repeal of Roe v. Wade, Tisdel voted to keep Michigan’s 1931 abortion ban that would have thrown women in jail for accessing reproductive healthcare.
