Rep. Elissa Slotkin, who has represented Michigan for three terms in Congress as a member of the House of Representatives, is running this year for her first term representing Michigan in the U.S. Senate.

Rep. Slotkin spent much of her career working on national security issues for the federal government. After losing her mother to cancer and witnessing firsthand the way families dealing with a serious illness must also navigate tremendous financial stress, she decided to run for Congress and work toward a more just healthcare system.

Mike Rogers recently moved back to Michigan after living in Florida for years in order to run for the U.S. Senate.

Rep. Debbie Dingell is a fighter for progressive values and lifelong activist running for her sixth term in Congress to represent the 6th District.

Rep. Dingell became politically active at a young age and has been a stalwart advocate for women and children’s interests, as well as every person’s right to access the healthcare they need. Curtis Hertel is a former state legislator, currently working for Governor Whitmer, who is running for his first term in Congress to represent the 7th District.

Throughout his career, Hertel has striven to find workable solutions to the problems facing Michiganders and ensure everyone in our state can thrive. In the Senate, Hertel was known for his fiery support of abortion rights, the labor movement and public education.

As a member of Gov. Whitmer’s team after he left the state senate, he helped work to pass major gun violence prevention legislation after the tragic shooting at Michigan State University. Clinton St. Mosley is a father and small business owner running for his first term in Congress in the 9th District.

St. Mosley shares Michiganders’ frustration with partisan politics that prevent us from finding real solutions and has experience with having to work hard to make ends meet. His policy platform includes making communities safer via common sense gun violence prevention policies, finding compassionate immigration solutions that protect DREAMers, and combating climate change with initiatives that will also strengthen the economy.

After nearly 40 years serving as Macomb County Prosecutor, assistant U.S. attorney, and circuit court judge, Carl Marlinga is running for his first term in Congress to represent the 10th District.

Marlinga is a lifelong advocate who works hard to ensure everyone has the resources they need to thrive. His policy priorities include enshrining abortion rights into federal law, protecting the Great Lakes from corporate polluters, building a better, fairer justice system, and creating good-paying jobs across the state.

Rep. Haley Stevens is a Birmingham, MI native and consistent advocate who is running for her fourth term in Congress to represent the 11th District.

An Obama administration alum, Rep. Stevens helped save the auto industry as the Chief of Staff for the U.S. Auto Rescue Task Force. Regina Weiss is an incumbent Democrat running for her third term to the Michigan House of Representatives. She currently represents the 6th District and is running to represent the 5th District, due to redistricting. She currently serves on multiple Appropriations subcommittees for the environment, higher education, and judiciary, as well as chairing the subcommittee on School Aid and Education. Before running for office she was a public school teacher with Detroit Public Schools Community District and served on Oak Park’s City Council.

Natalie Price is an incumbent Democrat running for her second term to the Michigan House of Representatives. She currently represents the 5th District and is now running to represent the 6th District, due to redistricting. She currently serves on the Tax Policy committee and various appropriations subcommittees on healthcare and education. Price comes from a long line of strong women and community organizing. She is a former high school teacher and previously served her community as a Berkley city council member.

Tonya Myers Phillips was born and raised in Detroit. She is an attorney and community leader with a lifelong history of service and advocacy under her belt. She studied political science and went on to receive her law degree from the University of Michigan.

Myers Phillips has worked in private practice to represent small businesses and churches, and served as a criminal defense attorney. She has also worked for Michigan Legal Services as a housing attorney, helping vulnerable persons save their homes from foreclosure, and in 2015 she championed Detroit’s first jail diversion program to coordinate community service and wraparound services in place of jail or high fines. She has served on numerous community advocacy campaigns and in 2022 received the Spirit of Detroit award for advocacy for equitable laws and systems for Detroiters.

Myers Phillips is committed to fighting for laws and policies that treat all people with dignity and to eliminating systemic barriers that disparately impact the poor, disenfranchised, and working class. She believes in creating an economy that works for all, where wages meet the cost of living, housing is affordable, and the wealthy pay their fair share. Samantha Steckloff is an incumbent Democrat seeking re-election for her third term in the Michigan House of Representatives. She currently serves on a variety of legislative appropriations committees, including as chair of the appropriations subcommittee on Higher Education and Community College.

After high school, while obtaining her degree from Purdue University in political science, Steckloff served as the youngest city youth advisor in the country. Later, she was elected to the Farmington Hills City Council twice, where she promoted sustainable building practices in the city, created the Community Health Commission, and expanded recycling programs.

Steckloff’s priorities include standing up to polluters and corporations to protect our air and water, investing in both traditional schools and trade schools, apprenticeships and other skills training programs, and standing alongside marginalized communities for equality in our state. She believes in creating an economy that works for all, where wages meet the cost of living and housing is affordable.

Steckloff supports protecting reproductive freedom, common sense gun violence prevention measures, and fully funding public education. She will work to support workers’ rights and ensure equality for the LGBTQ+ community and traditionally marginalized groups. As a cancer survivor, Steckloff’s priorities also include fighting for a public insurance option that helps Michiganders get the health care coverage they need and protects those with preexisting conditions.

He supports protecting reproductive freedom, common sense gun violence prevention measures, and fully funding public education. Arbit will advocate for expanding access to mental health care—especially for underserved communities. He will also fight to make Michigan a national leader in combating hate crimes; support workers’ rights; ensure equality for the LGBTQ+ community; protect our air, water, and environment; and hold utility companies accountable.

She has worked in the service industry for over 25 years and is a member of Little Lobbyists, which works to ensure children and adults with disabilities are protected. She also sits on the board of Oakland Community Health Network and is the Chair of Oakland County's Food Service Appeals Board.

May-Seward’s priorities include fighting for government transparency, ensuring all Michigan children have the resources they need for their education, keeping the government out of people’s bedrooms and doctors’ offices, ensuring wealthy corporations pay their fair share of taxes, and investing in our local communities.

As executive, his accomplishments include establishing offices focusing on Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, Environmental Sustainability, and Older Adult Services. Coulter has also made strides to increase access to post-secondary education and address student mental health. If reelected, Coulter plans on continuing his work to expand public transportation options and move county operations back to downtown Pontiac.

Karen McDonald is an incumbent Democrat running for her second term as Oakland County prosecuting attorney. She is a former high school English teacher and also served as a judge on the Oakland County Circuit Court.

Since taking office, McDonald has focused on juvenile justice reform and restoring fairness in the legal system. McDonald is responsible for establishing Oakland County’s first-ever Convictions Integrity Unit, which is responsible for reviewing claims of wrongful convictions and making recommendations for release. In July 2021, Governor Gretchen Whitmer appointed McDonald to serve on the State of Michigan’s Task Force on Juvenile Justice Reform. Notably, McDonald led the prosecution against the assailant responsible for the Oxford High School shooting, resulting in three convictions in February 2024.
