Aisha Farooqi is a Democrat running for the Michigan House of Representatives in the 57th District. She is an assistant prosecuting attorney in Wayne County where her focus has been cases involving troubled youth. She has also served on the Zoning Board of Appeals for the City of Sterling Heights and has been a member of the Macomb County Black Caucus and the Muslim-Jewish Advisory Council of Detroit. She was born in Scotland and moved to the United States when she was nine. She attended Detroit Public Schools, earned a bachelor’s in psychology from University of Michigan-Dearborn, and earned her law degree from the University of Detroit Mercy.
