Robert Kull is a Democrat running for the Michigan House of Representatives for the 28th District. Kull is a Navy veteran, serves as the veterans affairs director of Monroe County, and is a 5th generation resident of Monroe. He comes from a family of union members and teachers, has a background in community service, and obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Public Management and Policy. Kull also serves in the Michigan Army National Guard as an officer candidate.
Kull’s priorities, if he is elected to office, include improving local infrastructure by pushing for railroad overpasses to ease traffic and bringing broadband to rural areas, supporting collective bargaining rights, and increasing funding for programs focused on veterans, including mental health support. He will also fight for universal PreK and statewide paid family leave, support collective bargaining rights, and increase school funding, including raising salaries for teachers.
Kull is endorsed by six of our partners: Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan, Michigan AFL-CIO, American Federation of Teachers Michigan, Michigan League of Conservation Voters, Michigan Education Association, and Equality Michigan.
Kull is running against Republican Jaime Thompson. Thompson is anti-reproductive rights and has expressed right-wing views on teaching accurate history in schools and elections. Thompson is endorsed by the anti-choice organization Right to Life Michigan.
Robert Kull is the most progressive choice in this race.
