Brian Jaye is a military veteran and legal professional running as the Democratic candidate to represent the 9th Congressional District. He was the first in his family to attend college and is running for Congress to ensure every child in America has equal opportunity to succeed.

Carl Marlinga is an attorney with decades of legal experience who is running as the Democratic candidate to represent the 10th Congressional District. He served for nearly four decades as Macomb County Prosecutor, an assistant U.S. attorney, and a judge on the 16th Judicial Circuit Court.

Marlinga fully supports the Constitutional right to get an abortion and intends to codify Roe into federal law. He wants to support good-paying jobs here in the U.S. to strengthen the economy, while also working to protect our Great Lakes and rivers and ensure they are clean for generations to come.

Stephanie Chang is an incumbent Democrat running for her second term to the Michigan State Senate. Prior to serving in the State Senate, she served two terms in the Michigan House of Representatives, where she was on the leadership team for the House Democratic Caucus for both terms. Chang was the first Asian American woman to be elected to the Michigan Legislature and was a co-founder of the Asian Pacific American Legislative Caucus.

Chang’s priorities include air quality protection, education, criminal justice reforms, reproductive rights, and fighting for affordable and safe drinking water. Padma Kuppa is a current Democratic representative in the Michigan House of Representatives in the 41st District, and she is running for Michigan State Senate in the 9th District. Kuppa currently serves on the Energy and Local Government Committee and the Municipal Finance Committee. She also belongs to the Education and Labor Caucuses, is the Co-Chair of the Asian Pacific American Caucus, and a Co-Chair to the Equal Pay Task Force.

Kevin Hertel is a Democrat running for the Michigan State Senate for the 12th District. He currently serves in the Michigan House of Representatives in the 18th District. Hertel has a Bachelor’s degree in Political Science from Michigan State University and while in college, co-created a coalition of Michigan’s 15 public universities to advocate for lower cost higher education. He is a member of the St. Clair Shores Waterfront Environmental Committee and volunteers with the Macomb County Special Olympics.

Hertel’s main priorities are to ensure infrastructure is up to code to keep the environment protected, increase access to early education, and lower the cost of public universities and community colleges through government funding. He also wants to improve programs for mental health care, substance abuse programs and programs for youth offenders to decrease prison sizes, abolish the retirement tax on our seniors, and improve the roads.

Mike McFall is a Democrat running for the Michigan House of Representatives for the 8th District. McFall grew up in a blue-collar, union family just outside of Flint. McFall currently lives with his husband in Hazel Park, where he is a member of the Hazel Park City Council and mayor pro tem.

Joe Tate is an incumbent Democrat running for his third term to the Michigan House of Representatives. Before serving in the Michigan House, Joe Tate was an all-star football player and captain at Michigan State University, where he graduated with a degree in Public Policy and then played in the NFL. After two years in the NFL, he joined the Marines and served two deployments in Afghanistan. When he was honorably discharged, he came back to Michigan to earn two Master's degrees from the University of Michigan in Business Administration and Science in Environmental Policy and Planning.

Tate’s priorities include quality, equitable education and youth service programs; high-quality jobs growth and the economic revitalization of Detroit; and effective public transit for metropolitan Detroit. Sarah Ann Lucido is a Democrat running for her first term on the Macomb County Commission. She has served on Eastpointe City Council for seven years and now serves as the city’s mayor pro tem. Her priorities include adequate and equitable funding for budget priorities, expanding mental health services, and improving drainage infrastructure to deal with major flooding events.

Lucido is running against Republican Randell J. Shafer.
