Betsy Coffia is a Democrat running for the Michigan House of Representatives for the 103rd District. Coffia grew up in northern Michigan and has long been an activist in the community. She was the first Democratic woman in over three decades to be elected to the Grand Traverse County Commission in 2018 and was re-elected as a commissioner in 2020.
Coffia’s priorities include fighting for an economy that works for everyone, preserving Michigan’s natural resources, supporting public education, protecting reproductive rights, and protecting voting rights. She will work to address climate change, expand access to quality mental and physical health care, and ensure everyone has a living wage. Coffia will stand with teachers and fight to make sure they have the resources they need.
Coffia is endorsed by seven of our partners: Planned Parenthood Advocates of Michigan, American Federation of Teachers Michigan, Sierra Club Michigan Chapter, Clean Water Action, Michigan League of Conservation Voters, Michigan Education Association, and Equality Michigan.
Coffia is running against MAGA Republican Jack O’Malley. O’Malley attempted to delay certification of the 2020 election and is anti-reproductive freedom. He is endorsed by the DeVos-backed Michigan Freedom Network.
Betsy Coffia is the most progressive choice in this race.

Gretchen Whitmer and Garlin Gilchrist II
This year Michigan voters will elect a governor and we recommend re-electing Governor Gretchen Whitmer. In her four years as Michigan’s governor, Gov. Whitmer has repeatedly proven herself as a fierce advocate for people across the state.
