Vote YES for Kent schools and students

  • Every child, regardless of their race or family income, deserves a quality education that prepares them for a rapidly-changing world.

That's why the board of the Kent School District has proposed renewing the Educational Program and Operations Levy, which helps fund critical needs for students that aren't covered by the state. If approved, Proposition No. 1 would replace the expiring levy at the existing voter-approved rate of $1.88 per $1,000 in assessed property value in 2023 and $1.86 in 2024. This means the owner of a $550,000 home could expect to pay around $1,034 in 2023. The funding goes towards already-established programming as well as staff, which includes nurses, mental health counselors, career support staff, arts and athletics, and smaller class sizes.

Research shows that creative activity, mental wellness resources, and smaller class sizes help kids become lifelong learners and healthy adults. Vote YES on Proposition No. 1 to build our students the schools they need to thrive.
