Monica Hunter is running for the District 4 seat on the Denver Public Schools Board of Education. Hunter is a DPS graduate, teacher, and parent and hopes to bring her an all-angles approach to the DPS board. Hunter has led an impressive and varied career having served as a strike captain in the 2019 strike and as founder of the DCTA Black Educators Caucus. She has also worked in advocacy with the Colorado Education Association where she is now the leader of the new Human and Civil Rights Department. Hunter will fight to secure fair and plentiful funding, academic success, and school safety.
