The Southern Marin Fire Protection District includes the communities of Tamalpais Valley, Almonte, Homestead Valley, Alto, Strawberry, Tiburon, Sausalito, Fort Baker, and Marin Headlands.Governance structure: Marin County’s Board of Supervisors created the Southern Marin Fire Protection District over 20 years ago by merging two existing regional fire-protection districts, and has expanded to include more territory twice since its creation. The Southern Marin Fire Protection District includes over 55 employees, and provides fire-protection services to three distinct zones.
The Position
