  • National Organization for Women PAC - Washington Chapter

NOW has been at the forefront of the fight for women’s rights for decades. Elevating the status of women involves many, many issues, and that is why NOW is a multi-issue organization. We strive to protect women’s reproductive rights, including the right to obtain a safe, legal abortion; we are trying to close the salary gap that still exists (women make less than $.80 to a man’s $1.00 when in similar occupations and with equal education); we work to put an end to sexual discrimination and harassment; we support equal rights for all citizens, including the right to marry; we work to prevent violence against women. This would be the ‘short list’ of issues we act upon. For more information, see http://www.wanow.org

  • National Women's Political Caucus of Washington

The NWPC is a multi-partisan grassroots membership organization dedicated to increasing the number of women in elected and appointed office at all levels of government. The NWPC endorses women candidates statewide. Initiatives are sometimes considered if they are strongly relevant to the mission of the organization. Candidates who wish to be endorsed by the NWPC are asked to submit a questionnaire and attend an interview. The endorsement committee makes endorsement recommendations to the State Board and/or the local organization membership based on the candidates interview and questionnaire responses, position on the issues of importance to the Caucus, viability, and past record where applicable.
